ARC Fire and Acoustic Party Wall DPC
![]()
The ARC Fire and Acoustic DPC enables the closing of an external cavity at the junction with a party wall and between floors, providing resistance to the spread of flame along the cavity. Where a separating party wall meets the external cavity wall, building regulations require the use of a mineral wool closer for acoustic insulation purposes. This product meets the requirement by significantly reducing the sound transmission along the cavity. The Rockfibre insulation is protected by a damp proof course on the external face, therefore satisfying a requirement of the National House Building Council (NHBC).
In order to seal off internal and external corners, an L-shaped acoustic DPC is available, and is recommended by the Robust Details (Jan 05). Dimensions available on request.

ARC Fire Stop Slab
![]()
The ARC Fire Stop Slab is made from foil faced high density rockfibre. ARC's product is designed with a rebated jointing system for improved fire performance as standard.
Suitable for use in both masonry wall cavities, and at the edge of a concrete floor slab. Available in cavities up to 300mm wide and with over 3 hours fire integrity
- Easily installed
- Suitable for cavity widths upto 300mm
- Over 3 hours fire integrity - Warrington Fire Research test
- Manufactured with a rebated joining system
- ARC will also pre-cut slabs to the required cavity widths
Fitting Instructions
ARC Fire Stop Slab is cut to the cavity width and installed using fixing brackets (2 per length). Ideally friction fitted with a minimum of 5mm compression to prevent smoke leakage. The rebated joints must be fitted as tightly as possible without gaps. If the slab requires air tightness, the joints should be taped and intumescent mastic should be applied to the edges.
Technical Data
The ARC Fire Stop Slab uses rockfibre mineral wool which conforms to BS EN 13162: 2001 Thermal Insulation products for buildings, factory made mineral wool specification, and achieves a fire classification of Euroclass A1 as defined in BS EN 13501-1. ARC's Fire Stop Slabs have been tested in accordance with BS476: Part 20: 1987 and have achieved over 3 hours fire integrity.
Standard Dimensions:
ARC Fire Stop Slabs: 1000 x 600 x 100mm
or cut into strips for the required cavity width.

ARC Fire Rated Insulated DPC / Cavity Closer
![]()
The ARC Rockfibre Insulated DPC ins an insulated DPC which has been developed to close masonry cavities for thermal acoustic and fire applications. The primary reason for fitting the ARC Insulated DPC is to close off cavities around windows and doors preventing cold bridging. Can easily be installed as the brick and block work progresses where a traditional block return is used. Also available with a polyethylene insulation.
- 4 hours fire integrity - Warrington Fire Research test
- Easy to install
- Prevents cold bridging
- Exceeds the minimum requirement for Part L 2010 provided the window is set back 30mm from the inner face of the outer brickwork and thermally efficient materials are used in the construction
| Insulation Dimensions | DPC - Polyethylene | Pack Size |

ARC Rockfibre Lamella Thermal and Acoustic Plasterboards
![]()
Designed to offer both thermal and acoustic insulation for internal walls, helping to improve upon statutory requirements. ARC Rockfibre Lamella Plasterboards are suitable for both refurbishment and new build projects in the domestic and commerical markets where increased thermal and acoustic performance is required. Rigid rockfibre slabs are cut into strips and turned through 90 degrees so that the fibres lie at right angles to the plasterboard. This gives increased resistance to compression of a slab of the same density.
ARC's Lamella Plasterboards are manufactured using rockfibre mineral wool which conforms to BS EN 13162: 2001 Thermal Insulation products for buildings, factory made mineral wool products specificiation, and achieves a fire classification of Euroclass A1 as defined in BS EN 13501-1.
Also available with a standard rigid rockfibre mineral wool slab insulation.
Various sizes and thicknesses available on request.
ARC Lamella Plasterboard Laminate:
Plasterboard length 2400 x 1200mm wide x 12.5mm thick.
Plasterboard conductivity 0.25W/mk
ARC Thermal and Acoustic Lamella Floor Boards
![]()
Designed to provide both thermal and acoustic insulation for both ground and intermediate floors, in either new build or refurbishment work. ARC Thermal and Acoustic Lamella Floor Boards consist of high density Rockfibre mineral wool lamella strips bonded on to tongue and grooved moisture-resistant chipboard.
- Excellent thermal and acoustic insulation
- CFC and HCFC free
- Suitable for all constructions
- Will accomodate pipe runs and minor imperfections in sub floor
- Easy to lay
- Suitable for new build and refurbishment work
The ARC Lamella Floor Board works on the 'floating floor' principle to isolate and absorb impact and airbourne sound. Rigid Rockfibre slabs are cut into strips and turned through 90 degrees so that the fibres lie at right angles to the chipboard. This gives increased resistance to compression of a slab of the same density, whilst remaining resilient to take up imperfections in the sub floor.
Available with either 18 or 22mm chipboard bonded to insulation with a thickness ranging from 15 to 100mm.
ARC Lamella Boards:
Chipboard length 2400mm x 600mm wide x 18mm thick
Chipboard conductivity 0.14 W/mk
Insulation: Lamella Rockwool Conductivity 0.044 W/mk, lamella rockfibre insulation supplied to the required thickness standard thickness 25 - 100mm)
